What is Creative Class? It is the growing role of creativity in our economy. There are many creative industries around the globe. They can be categorized in three different sectors. They are, the cultural creativity which usually happens in the production of art works, design and scholarships. The scientific creativity which involves in experimenting and creating new solutions. And last but not least, the economic creativity where new talents and capital are produced to be distributed as products and services.

The famous Richard L. Florida, a professor and an American urban studies theorist who focuses on social and economic theory published his book talking about Creative Class. In the overview of his book it was stated that, “Our values and tastes, our personal relationships, our choices of where to live, and even our sense and use of time are changing. This “Creative Class” is found in various fields, from engineering to theatre, biotech to education, architecture to small business. In the future, they will determine how the workplace is organized, what companies will prosper or go bankrupt, and even which cities will thrive or wither.” What does the overview of his book imply? It simply talks about the various creative industries of a diversified economy.

Am I a member of this amazing Creative Class? Yes, sure I am. Where do I fit in this category? From a background of sales to an interesting and exciting industry of the media publishing. Are there shortcomings? Yes, definitely. How do you address them? Here are some tips. Take responsibility. Don’t allow it to consume you by dwelling over it. Handle it in a mature manner. Move forward. Take it as lessons learned, it will only make you stronger and wiser.
