In a world filled with remarkably a broad range of causes to spread awareness online, one of which most infinitely important factors to be spoken about strongly would be our environment. Mother Nature is extremely beautiful. But are we humans doing our part to safeguard and preserve it for our future generations to come?
The extensive and majestic ocean is home to some of the world’s most amazing animals. However, due to pollution many undersea creatures are decreasing in population. Loggerhead Sea Turtles are some of the oldest species on earth, popular in the Mediterranean regions and are endangered due to ocean pollution. Back in 2015, there was a sea turtle caught with 12cm plastic straw lodged in his nostril. Thankfully it was removed. The video in the link below this article shows why plastic waste is detrimental to marine life.
The use of digital media such as social media, viral videos, and blogs have all become tools for online activism. It has enabled activists to reach audiences faster, and build awareness efficiently. One of such example was set to the viewers by a well-known celebrity, Jason Momoa. He’s an advocate creating an alternative to change the system of single-use of plastic by using recyclable aluminium instead. (The link is below this article – Mananalu).
Live Lokai is another advocate in believing to find a balance on earth. They make bracelets from plastics cleared from the polluted oceans. (Link below).
How can we humans do our part by making a change to our home? My intended results of this blog is to spread awareness and share the different advocates who are changing the system around the world. It is also for you to make a difference after reading this blog.
